Fundraising for a New Zealand home began in 2003. A property was purchased in Auckland
in 2006 and the first intake of young women came into the programme in August 2007. We
currently have eight young women in residence.
Full time staff include: Kerry Petrie, Executive Director and Hannah Wood, Programme
Manager; who are supported by a Programme Co–ordinator, Health & Nutrition Co–ordinator,
counsellors, and night and weekend support staff. A qualified dietician is contracted to
Mercy Ministries part–time, and external specialist medical services are available to the
residents as required.
Kerry Petrie – Executive Director
Kerry has a background in business and financial management having worked as a CFO for 8 years.
She has been involved with Mercy Ministries in New Zealand since 2002, and in 2006 accepted
the offer to lead the process of establishing the first residential programme in Auckland.
Mercy Ministries New Zealand is overseen by a local Board of Trustees, comprised of business
professionals from both corporate and non–profit sectors.
